iridescent ivory & maroon minsk china
iridescent ivory & maroon minsk china
Beautifully unique vintage china from Minsk FFZ (Soviet Belarus) circa 1960s or 1970s.
Creamy white dishes are decorated with an iridescent lusterware rim and finished with a simple burgundy center ring (except the oval plate, which has no ring). A textured edge completes the design. Simple and elegant, but still so special.
In excellent vintage condition. No discernible chips, cracks, or crazing. Some light utensil marks present, consistent with age and use.
A few pieces, particularly the oval serving plate, have original glaze flaws that appear as tiny dark, slightly raised specks in the finish. See photo of oval plate for example.
